Global Council of Pakistan

Global Council of Pakistan was formed in August of 2001 by four students of the University of Minnesota. The sole purpose is to help build a strong Pakistan. It is an ambitious project, but not an impossible one. The organization is looking for committed people to join in, who are truly dedicated to the cause of Pakistan. It is set up in a way that appeals to all groups including people who are interested in education, health care, politics, and human rights. Our goal is to have the right people at the right places in order to best use their potentials and at the same time help them grow as individuals.

The objective of the organization is fund raising for the purpose of establishing development and aid projects within Pakistan

Anybody can become a member of Global Council of Pakistan. Membership helps build support base and the number of people that are targeted.

Assemblies

GCP plans eight Assemblies in different continents. Each will consists of representatives to different areas of the region. For example the Assembly of North America will have a representative for each state in the United States.

The Assembly in Pakistan has a different function from the rest. Its main function will be to implement GCP projects in their areas.

Advisory Council

The Advisory Council consists of people who have expertise and experiences working in different areas e.g. education and healthcare. They will also help them network within the community and help publicize Global Council of Pakistan and its mission. The members of the Advisory Council serve as guides and as their knowledge pool.

Committees

GCP consists of several Councils. The Councils are working committees targeting different problem-areas. Each has a Director and different officers. The Councils are GCP's think-tanks which decide the areas they want to work in and develop plans to implement projects.

Executive Body

The Executive Body looks after day-to-day running of the Organization and supervise all activities of GCP as well as make major policy decisions. The Executive Body consists of Directors of all Committees/Councils and assemblies.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors oversee functions of Global Council of Pakistan as a whole. It determines that programs undertaken by GCP are consistent with its mission and monitor their effectiveness. The Board is a GCP's primary link to the Community, GCP members, the public and the media.

It is responsible to develop relationships and garner support from community members. It is also responsible for ensuring adherence to legal standards and ethical norms as well as to make sure that the council is financially responsible and free from fraudulent behavior.

Each of GCP's projects fall under different working committees. You are invited to participate also.
